Impact AreaTeens & Young Adults
Using a positive youth development framework, UA works with churches and organizations that provide school-age children and youth with extracurricular opportunities that empower them to develop leadership skills, serve the community, build meaningful relationships, and grow in their faith.
UA also supports schools serving low-income families with needed supplies and community partnerships to facilitate academic success. Together, these efforts build capacity in children and youth-serving organizations so that they are better equipped to offer healthy environments and supportive relationships so that our next generation of leaders are able to learn and grow.
How We Make an Impact
Essential Supplies Program
Partnering with World Vision, Urban Alliance is able to host the UA Distribution Center on site. World Vision's Essentail Suppies Program helps get in-kind donations of home goods, personal items, diapers, clothing and more to programs that can distribute them to people in need.
Training & Equipping
There is a well-known story about teaching a man to fish that we take seriously at Urban Alliance. Solutions that only address immediate needs are vital, compassionate parts of addressing societal ills. For lasting change, we need to address root causes and teach those on the front line how to equip and train the people that they serve.
Foster Care Recruitment
In partnership with The Village for Families & Children, Urban Alliance is working to recruit foster families for our state’s most vulnerable children and youth. This program allows individuals, families, and local churches to show that they care and provides short- and long-term options to make a difference in the lives of children.
GenNOW! Youth Summit
Urban Alliance hosts an annual summit for youth & youth workers to gather for training, encouragement, networking and support. Check our Event Calendar to find when the next one is happening!
Education Inequity
Children spend a significant part of their lives in classrooms, but that experience can vary wildly based on where you live and the resources your family has available. Urban Alliance considers this challenge to be so signficant we have targeted this issue specifically.
UAServe Volunteers
UAServe, Urban Alliance's volunteer matching program, helps people with a desire to serve find volunteer opportunities that match their interests, skills and availability. From helping in the Distribution Center warehouse to serving their neighbors with an area program – UAServe connects the church to the community one person at a time.
