Congratulations to Bible Way Temple Nation, Faith Ministries Church, Grace Worship Center, House of Restoration Church, Mustard Seed Outreach Center, New Covenant United Methodist Church, New Dimension Christian Center, South Congregational Church and Triumphant Church of God, who were recently awarded grant funding through Next Generation, an Urban Alliance initiative that helps children and youth achieve academic success, develop character and receive support through healthy relationships by collaboratively increasing the impact of local in- and out-of-school programs.
Grant funding allowed these organizations to engage a teen or young adult as a Summer Meals Assistant, who will be able to develop leadership and employment skills as they interact with children in the Summer Meals Program, a federal assistance program that provides free meals to children 18 years old and younger.
Urban Alliance hosted a training for Summer Meals Assistants on July 7, where they were provided with information and materials to enhance their summer employment experience.
