Tasks may include:
- Committing to work one-on-one with an adult learner
- Following provided training and materials
- Tailoring lessons to accommodate differences in learning styles and speed
- Evaluating students’ progress
- Preparing and disseminating progress reports at regular intervals
In order to volunteer, you should be:
- A registered UAServe volunteer (you will have a chance to register if you haven’t already)
- Willing to attend an orientation prior to volunteering
- Willing to submit a background check
- Open to an ongoing volunteer commitment that works with your schedule
- Knowledgeable about and respectful of cultural differences.
- Punctual
- Reliable
- Patient
- Personable
- Fluent in the English language
