We are excited to introduce one of Urban Alliance’s board members and newly elected treasurer, George Thompson.
“I was attracted to the people who are involved in the carrying out the mission of Urban Alliance because they displayed a passion for Christ and for helping people in the Hartford community. Having worked in Hartford for 15 years, I’ve always wanted to use my gifts to make a meaningful impact in the community,” shared George.
And he is doing just that. George’s financial background and work experience brings a fresh perspective to UA and he is a great resource for supporting the board and staff in operations, strategic planning and development opportunities.
He and his family are active members of a UA network participant church, Calvary Fellowship, have participated in UA’s Revitalize Community Health Outreach and are UAGive donors. First hand, he has also seen the impact of Urban Alliance’s mission through an opportunity he had to volunteer with UA and World Vision to hand out Yoobi school supplies at Harford’s Simpson-Waverly Elementary School.
“I remember seeing the excitement on the faces of the children and teachers when we visited the school, it was a meaningful time we shared with them,” he recalled.
Please join us in thanking George for his contributions of time, talent and treasure to Urban Alliance through his role on our board of directors!
