SUMMARY:Second Chances in Action: Mentoring to Support Successful Reentry
DESCRIPTION:RESCHEDULED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER ON 12/2 \nReentry into the community after incarceration presents unique challenges—and powerful opportunities for growth and transformation. Effective mentoring can make all the difference in helping returning citizens rebuild their lives\, reconnect with their families\, and achieve lasting stability. \nThis interactive training equips mentors\, pastors and program staff with the knowledge and tools to provide trauma-informed\, strengths-based support to men and women reentering society. Participants will explore the foundations of successful mentoring relationships\, examine common barriers faced during reentry\, and learn practical strategies for fostering trust\, accountability\, and empowerment. \nThrough guided discussions\, real-life scenarios\, and reflective exercises\, participants will: \n\nUnderstand the unique needs and experiences of individuals returning from incarceration.\nLearn effective communication and boundary-setting techniques for mentoring relationships.\nIdentify strategies to build resilience\, promote growth\, and encourage action towards goals.\nDevelop action steps for integrating best practices into mentoring relationships.\n\nBy the end of the session\, participants will leave with greater confidence\, compassion\, and clarity about how to mentor in ways that truly support successful reentry and long-term success. \nSecond Chance Mentors and Pastors will receive a $25 Amazon gift card! \n\n\n \n \n Event Registration\n \n "*" indicates required fields \n \n InstagramThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email*\n \n Phone*Church / Organization*Stay in Touch\n \n I'd like to receive email updates about Urban Alliance news and events\n Additional Contact InfoName of Your Program/Ministry*Your Mailing Address* \n \n \n \n Street Address\n \n \n Address Line 2\n \n \n City\n \n AlabamaAlaskaAmerican SamoaArizonaArkansasCaliforniaColoradoConnecticutDelawareDistrict of ColumbiaFloridaGeorgiaGuamHawaiiIdahoIllinoisIndianaIowaKansasKentuckyLouisianaMaineMarylandMassachusettsMichiganMinnesotaMississippiMissouriMontanaNebraskaNevadaNew HampshireNew JerseyNew MexicoNew YorkNorth CarolinaNorth DakotaNorthern Mariana IslandsOhioOklahomaOregonPennsylvaniaPuerto RicoRhode IslandSouth CarolinaSouth DakotaTennesseeTexasUtahU.S. Virgin IslandsVermontVirginiaWashingtonWest VirginiaWisconsinWyomingArmed Forces AmericasArmed Forces EuropeArmed Forces Pacific\n State\n \n \n ZIP Code\n \n \n Group InformationTotal Number of People in Your GroupIncluding youGroup Member NamesOne per line\, pleaseMealsWill you be joining us for the meal(s)?*\n \n \n Yes\n \n \n \n No\n List any dietary restrictionsThis field is hidden when viewing the formAdmin Fields
