Next Generation helps children and youth achieve academic success, develop character and receive support through healthy relationships by collaboratively increasing the impact of local in- and out-of-school programs.
Through Next Generation, organizations in the UA network are provided with support to increase the impact of their in- and out-of school programs as they implement strategies to holistically help people in our community.
Strengthening Children and Youth Programs
Organizations are strengthening their in- and out-of-school programs to increase opportunities for children and youth to achieve academic success, develop character and receive support through healthy relationships.
Partnerships between churches, organizations and local schools that serve primarily low-income students are helping to support children and youth by affirming their worth, providing opportunities for them to build knowledge and skills, helping connect them to resources, and providing long-term relational support.
Free Meals for Children and Youth
Free meals are being provided to children and youth during through Community Renewal Team's Summer Meals program, and young adults are being provided with opportunities to build knowledge and skills (leadership and employment skills) as they engage with children in the Summer Meals program.
Opportunities for Youth to Serve and Build Relationships
The Hartford Project, YX Movement, and Urban Alliance's volunteer program (UAServe) are providing opportunities for middle- and high-school youth to build knowledge and skills and develop long-term relational support.
