The work done through Urban Alliance is focused on having meaningful, long-term impact.
Urban Alliance initiatives are coordinated, long-term collaborations to increase the impact of local programs and services that are helping people achieve lasting change in their lives.
Many people are able to unify together and use their individual and organizational strengths to help our neighbors in need. With each key player adding to a collaborative initiative, impact grows. Areas of vitality in the community, research-informed models and ongoing evaluations performed by Urban Alliance work hand-in-hand to shape initiative strategies and confirm the impact that initiatives are making.
Through Urban Alliance initiatives centered around health, children and youth, and basic needs, organizations in the UA network are provided with support—consultation, technical assistance, grant funding, supplies, volunteers, and training—to increase the impact of their services as they implement these strategies to holistically help people in our community.
- Affirm worth: Engage people in ways that make them feel cared for, acknowledged and respected.
- Build knowledge and skills: Offer ways for people to gain knowledge and skills.
- Connect to resources: Connect people to additional resources, programs and assistance.
- Develop long-term relational support: Offer opportunities for people to develop relationships that encourage their sustained development.
